‘2024 Herbert V. Kohler and Ruth DeYoung Kohler scholarship recipients announced’

Four students from Sheboygan County have been granted a total of 0,000 in scholarships from a local foundation. Cayley Weiss, a graduating senior from Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, received the largest scholarship of 0,000 known as the Herbert V. Kohler Scholarship. This scholarship recognizes her outstanding achievements in academics, extracurricular activities, community service, leadership skills, and ability to bring about change.

Weiss, who excelled in high-level classes and received a perfect score on her ACT, demonstrated leadership in debate, National Honor Society, soccer, forensics, and various volunteering opportunities. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall to study chemical engineering and earn a certificate in sustainable energy engineering or biology.

In addition to the Herbert V. Kohler Scholarship, the Ruth DeYoung Kohler Scholarship was also awarded to two other students. Paolo Gonzalez from North High School and Samantha Kolar from South High School received ,000 each in scholarship funds. Gonzalez, a musician, aims to pursue a double major in psychology and piano performance at Lawrence University. Kolar, a visual artist, will be attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.

Furthermore, Daniel Walter from Kohler High School was rewarded with ,000 from the scholarship fund. Walter, a talented musician and composer, plans to study music education and composition at St. Norbert College.

These bright students have shown exceptional skills and dedication in their respective fields, earning recognition and support from the local community.
