New AI-powered Chromebook Plus laptops revealed by Acer

Acer is expanding its Chromebook Plus lineup with the introduction of two new models that incorporate Gemini AI technology. The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 and Acer Chromebook Plus 516 GE offer different functionalities to cater to various user needs but share the common feature of Gemini AI.

Google recently announced the integration of Gemini AI into its Chromebook Plus computers, introducing features like generative wallpapers, video backgrounds, and the Magic Editor for Google Photos. Acer’s new laptops will also benefit from these AI features.

The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 boasts a 14-inch WUXGA touchscreen display, powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 115U processor with 8GB of LPDDR5 SDRAM and 256GB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. This laptop features an aluminum chassis that is MIL-STD 810 certified and offers up to 10 hours of battery life.

On the other hand, the Acer Chromebook Plus 516 GE is designed as a cloud gaming-optimized laptop, with a larger 16-inch WQXGA display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with an Intel Core i5 processor 120U, Intel Graphics, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and a 256GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Gamers can enjoy streaming games from NVIDIA’s GeForce Now gaming service on this model.

The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 will be priced starting at 9.99, while the Chromebook Plus 516 GE will start at 9.99. Both laptops are expected to be available in May, offering users the latest in AI technology and powerful hardware for their computing needs.
