The Belfast Book Festival is pleased to announce that Banshee Press, recently nominated in the Small Press of the Year category at the British Book Awards, will be the spotlight press for Festival 2024, representing the island of Ireland. Banshee Press will be presenting a series of events in collaboration with the festival.
One of the highlighted events will feature Lucy Sweeney Byrne from Banshee Press, who will be joined by her editor and co-founder Laura Cassidy for a discussion on resilience. Lucy Sweeney Byrne is the author of “Paris Syndrome,” a critically acclaimed short story collection published by Banshee Press. Her upcoming collection, “Let’s Dance,” is set to be released in autumn 2024. Lucy’s work has been recognized with nominations for awards such as The Edge Hill Prize, and her writing has been featured in various literary publications. Laura Cassidy, a publisher and co-editor at Banshee, has also received accolades for her writing and editorial work.
