Metrolink’s celebrated Holiday Express Train has resumed operations for the festive season, offering families an enchanting holiday experience across Southern California. The initiative has quickly become a beloved tradition, delivering joy and fostering community spirit during this special time of year.

Doug Chaffee, the Metrolink board vice chair and Orange County Fourth District supervisor, emphasized the significance of this event, stating, “The Holiday Express Train has become a cherished tradition, creating unforgettable memories for Southern Californians of all ages. The joy and sense of community it brings is a reminder of what the holidays are all about, and we’re excited to create these special opportunities for friends and family to come together.”

On its opening day, the demand for the Holiday Express Train was palpable, with both trains operating at full capacity. Approximately 2,000 patrons enjoyed this unique service, which combines holiday-themed decorations, live carolers, and animated characters to create a festive atmosphere. Passengers were welcomed at the station with a variety of engaging activities including craft stations, balloon artists, and live music, making the experience much more than just a train ride. Furthermore, attendees collectively embraced the spirit of giving by bringing unwrapped toys for families in need, promoting a sense of generosity that defines the holiday season.

For families eager to experience the magic of the Holiday Express Train, there are four remaining stops on the 2024 schedule, each featuring two unique round trips from different locations. The upcoming dates and stations are as follows:

Saturday, Dec. 14: Simi Valley Station
Sunday, Dec. 15: Vista Canyon Station (Santa Clarita)
Saturday, Dec. 21: Redlands-Downtown Station

Tickets for the event are priced at per person, with children under two riding for free on a parent’s lap. It is crucial for attendees to purchase tickets online in advance through the Metrolink website at metrolinktrains.com, as there will be no ticket sales on-site.
